Each year, the students at Our Lady of Peace School spend Advent learning about various nonprofits throughout the area. Each grade then collects items for their nonprofit. Once again, St. Patrick’s Haven was the recipient of this very special Advent project. Under the direction of OLP teacher, Maria Ehrman, students in grades 7-8 learned about homelessness and how St. Patrick’s Haven provides a safe, clean place for homeless men. At a prayer service during the 3rd week of Advent, the students presented their collections to representatives from each nonprofit. The students are learning at a young age how to serve those in need. Thank you, Our Lady of Peace School, for teaching your students about Catholic Social Teaching and giving them a creative way to help others. Thank you, students, for collecting much needed items. You will always be Haven Angels!
