Each year, members of the HomeTeam, a coalition of organizations who serve the homeless in Erie, PA, participate in the HUD Single Point In Time Count. On 1/26/23, individuals who were staying at shelters in the County were counted. On 1/27/23, members of the HomeTeam went to organizations who provide meals for the homeless in our area to talk with those individuals who were not sheltered on 1/26/23 to find out where they stayed the night before and how we can continue better to serve their needs. Each person who was interviewed was given a “goody bag” with needed items, including 3 pair of Bombas socks donated from the socks ordered by St. Patrick’s Haven, an emergency overnight shelter for men. This count and the conversations we have with those who attended the meals, allows us to see areas where there may be gaps in our service and helps us to move forward to better serve those in need in our area. Thank you Bombas for your continued support.
